Detective faces child sex charges

A detective with the Metropolitan Police Flying Squad has been charged with 11 child sex offences.

Det Con Glenn Algar, who is in his 40s, faces a charge of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.

He is also accused of 10 counts of attempting to cause a child to look at a person engaged in sexual activity.

The officer, who is based at Finchley in north London, will appear at the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
