“We do have two fatalities at this point. It’s still an ongoing investigation, very fluid,” an LAPD spokesman told the Guardian. The gunman killed one man before turning the gun on himself, LAPD chief Charlie Beck told a news conference.
A statement from the department said two men were shot. “The method of suicide is gunshot wound. Many many questions are unanswered at this point ... there is evidence there that could be a suicide note.”
Beck said the campus was now safe but that in an abundance of caution police would continue combing the area.

Police helicopters hovered as police on the ground combed the campus and paramedics and firefighters treated and evacuated people.
