Police have told the parents of a young Teesside woman missing for 10 years that they are not giving up their efforts to trace her.

Donna Keogh was 17 when she was last seen in Middlesbrough town centre on 19 April 1998.

Officers said that Miss Keogh "had her whole life ahead of her" and investigations would continue.

An appeal a year ago resulted in some calls to the police and information followed up, but with no results.

Det Ch Supt Mark Braithwaite said he wanted to keep her case in the public conscience.

'Bring closure'

He said: "Donna was a 17-year-old young girl when she was last seen, she had her whole life to look forward to.

"The inquiry into her disappearance will not be closed until we know what happened to her and are able to provide some answers to her mum and dad.

"They have lived through 10 long years without knowing what happened to their daughter.

"I would therefore urge anyone who may have information, however insignificant they think it may be, to contact me and help bring closure for the family who have spent the last 10 years grieving the loss of their daughter."
