A man arrested on suspicion of the murder of a woman near a luxury estate remains in hospital and has not yet been questioned, police said.

He was taken into custody after the body of Sonita Nijhawan, 38, was discovered at a house in the St George's Hill area of Weybridge.

An initial post-mortem examination revealed she died of head and neck injuries, Surrey Police revealed.

A 46-year-old man with serious injuries was arrested and taken to hospital.

An ambulance crew called police to the house in Crossfield Place, a private residential road near Weybridge railway station, on Saturday morning.

The property is next to a private estate, which has a golf club and tennis club and where six-bedroom homes are listed for about £14m.
