Air strike 'kills 9 Palestinians' Israel strikes after Hamas raid

At least nine Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources say. An Israeli air strike on the Gaza Strip has reportedly killed nine Palestinians after a Hamas attack which left three soldiers dead.
The dead included at least two children, medics said. They also reported a large number of injured. Two children were among the nine people killed by the strike near Bureij refugee camp, Palestinian doctors say.
The strike brings the day's death toll in Gaza to at least 17, following clashes earlier in the day. Confirming the air strike, the Israeli military spokesman said it had been attacking gunmen, and the target had been hit.
Three Israeli soldiers and five Hamas militants were killed after fighting erupted near the Nahal Oz border fuel terminal, east of Gaza City. The overall death toll for the day is thought to be at least 17.
Israel confirmed it had launched an air strike on the Bureij refugee camp. Medics told the BBC that five people were also injured by the Israeli air strike near Bureij.
A military spokesman said: "There was an aerial raid on Bureij against armed gunmen and we identified hitting the target." Most of those killed were civilians, Hamas and medical officials said.
