The minibus was in collision with a lorry on the northbound carriageway of the M42 close to junction 5 near Solihull in the early hours of Monday. | |
Two people on the minibus were cut free from the wreckage and another 12 were also treated for injuries. None is believed to be seriously hurt. | |
A West Midlands Fire spokesman said the injuries could have been much worse. | |
"I think they had a very lucky escape. When we arrived most of the passengers had managed to get out of the vehicle themselves," said Paul Riley, watch commander at Solihull fire station. | |
"There were two guys trapped in the rear of the vehicle." | |
The group are believed to have been travelling from a night out in Redditch, Worcestershire, when the collision took place. |
