A file of evidence relating to allegations of historical sex abuse against Sir Cliff Richard has been passed to prosecutors by police, sources said. Prosecutors have been handed a file of evidence on allegations of historic sex abuse made against Sir Cliff Richard.
The singer has consistently denied any wrongdoing. The 75-year-old singer, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing, had his Berkshire home raided in August 2014 and spoken to police twice as part of the investigation.

"We have received a full file of evidence from South Yorkshire Police," a spokesperson said.
"We will now carefully consider its contents in line with the Code for Crown Prosecutors, in order to establish whether there is sufficient evidence to provide a realistic prospect of conviction, and whether it is in the public interest to do so."
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said it had handed over all material related to its investigation on and "awaits the decision".
In a statement last year, Sir Cliff said the claims against him were “absurd and untrue” and he had “never, in my life, assaulted anyone”.
