The young woman died in hospital after police were called to the Victoria Warehouse shortly after 05:00 BST. 'Double dose'
Det Ch Insp Ben Ewart said police "sadly" know "that other people will have taken this form of ecstasy" and urged anybody who may have taken it to "get themselves checked out." Ms Allen was taken by ambulance from the Victoria Warehouse to Manchester Royal Infirmary shortly after 05:00 BST but died in hospital.
"Our thoughts and condolences remain with the family of this girl at this heart breaking time," he said. Det Ch Insp Ben Ewart said she suffered a "desperately tragic and fatal reaction" after purchasing and consuming the tablet at the venue.
He asked anybody who knows where the drug may have come from to contact police. He said the "small, pink figure of eight" tablet, which has "white or red dots" and the word Mastercard printed across it, may contain "up to double the dose of MDMA expected in ecstasy tablets."
He urged anybody who may have taken it to "get themselves checked out."
"We want to pass on our deepest sympathy to Faye's family and friends", he added.
Anybody who knows where the drug may have come from has been asked to contact police.
