A 13-year-old who died of a pellet gun injury has been named by police as Ben Wragge.

Officers were called to an address in Thurston, near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, on Sunday afternoon by paramedics who were treating Ben for life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to West Suffolk hospital in a critical condition, but died a short while later. A postmortem examination found the teenager died as a result of an injury caused by an air pellet.

Two teenagers were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after the incident. They have since been released on bail.

Ben’s friends have paid tribute to him on a Facebook page.

“Gone at such a young age. you might be gone, but you will never be forgotten, Fly high angel R.I.P,” one friend wrote.

Another said: “RIP BEN u will always be in my heart man I will miss you so much you will always be in everyones heart u was so funny. Ben always had a smile on his face and he would want us to be happy so we now know he is in a better place”

Suffolk police said: “Two teenagers arrested following the death of a 13-year old-boy after an incident at an address in Thurston have been released on police bail. They are due to return to Bury St Edmunds police investigation centre on Thursday 16 June.”
