Version 0 of 1.

To the Editor:

“Sorry, You Can’t Speed Read,” by Jeffrey M. Zacks and Rebecca Treiman (Sunday Review, April 17), suggests that speed reading is not a shortcut to full comprehension. We agree, but we’d like to clarify our method.

Spritz develops technologies that fundamentally rethink and improve reading. Our approach creates a focused reading experience that simplifies and enhances reading mechanics, making it easier, more efficient and generally faster to read.

Spritz is now working to help the 20 percent of children and adults with dyslexia or concentration disorders like attention deficit disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder who benefit greatly from our approach. We are partnering with leading education publishers to make our technology available in the classroom this fall.

Spritz’s innovative technology, used at appropriate speeds for each reader (not too fast or too slow), is both efficient and helpful, particularly for struggling readers, who need it most. A result is more successful students, more effective teachers and very appreciative parents.
