Police launched a murder investigation after Michael Freshwater, 49, was found fatally stabbed at a property in Westridge Road, St Denys, on Friday. Hampshire Constabulary said there may have been an earlier "dispute". A 26-year old man and a 35-year-old man, both from Southampton, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. 'Wonderful soul' Mr Freshwater's partner Jenny Downey said in a statement that his death had left her "absolutely heartbroken". She said: "We had a special kind of love. "Not only was he my partner, he was my best friend, my rock and the absolute love of my life. I'm left with the biggest black hole in my heart. "Micky was a wonderful soul, a happy-go-lucky person with a beautiful heart made of gold. He would help anyone out. "He was one of a kind, a truly amazing soul. He was a friend to many, a brother, a son and a wonderful father." |
