Version 0 of 1. The body of a woman has been found on a railway line near York, police have said. Officers were called to the village of Copmanthorpe just after 9am on Sunday. North Yorkshire police said the line had been closed while officers, including British Transport police, tried to determine the woman’s identity. Services on the east coast mainline were disrupted for several hours, according to Network Rail, affecting trains between London and Scotland and across the Pennines. All lines have since reopened.
