Version 0 of 1.

This footage captures the moment a seriously injured Syrian baby is carefully extracted from rubble in the war-torn city of Aleppo.

On spotting the trapped baby in the Bar al-Nairab area of the city, rescuers can be heard screaming as they try to carefully remove the concrete lying on top.

Only on being freed from the rubble did the baby begin to start crying.

With a deep gash to the head, the baby was quickly rushed to hospital by rescuers.

The video was published online by pro-opposition TV station, Halab News Network.

Dozens of people have been killed in the latest wave of government air strikes and artillery bombardments on rebel-held areas including the use of barrel bombs - crude metal containers filled with explosives and shrapnel.

Aleppo's Al Quds hospital was hit in an air strike killing at least 55 people and injuring a further 60.

US Secretary of State John Kerry said American authorities are still gathering information but believe the hospital strike was a “deliberate” attack by Syrian forces.

Mr Kerry added: "This follows the Assad regime’s appalling record of striking such facilities and first responders."

A Syrian military official in Damascus denied the government had hit the hospital and Major General Igor Konashenkov said Russian planes had not flown any missions in the region for several days.
