Sarah Fry, who lives opposite the shop with friends, said demolition experts were at the scene on Wednesday afternoon.
"I was out when the fire started but the girls I live with said it seemed to start to start upstairs in one of the flats," she said.
"Thankfully we have double glazing but I still didn't go to bed until 3am. There didn't seem any point because the fire service had a man up on a crane blasting the fire until the early hours of the morning.
"They spent a lot of time damping down the house next door making sure it didn't spread were still damping down Costcutter when I got up."

Pete Hodge, who could see the fire's smoke at his home in nearby Rhiwbina, said: "I went down there in the morning and the building was a write-off.
