A 21-year-old man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a two-year-old died when he was hit by a car. A 21-year-old man has appeared in court charged with causing the death of a two-year-old in a hit-and-run accident.

The man, who is also charged with failing to stop and failing to report an accident, is due to appear before magistrates in Birmingham on Saturday. Prosecutors said he was dragged 300m by the car that failed to stop. Joshua's aunt suffered a broken leg.
Joshua's aunt, Milly Robinson, 13, suffered a broken leg in the incident. Afahan Hussain, from Highfield Road in the Saltley area, was remanded in custody until 17 November by magistrates in Birmingham.
The toddler, from Ward End, died in hospital. He is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene, failing to report the accident, and driving without insurance, tax or a licence.
The court was told Joshua, of Ward End, Birmingham, suffered serious injuries to his head when he was hit by a Toyota MR2 on in August 2004.
Hussain will next appear at Birmingham Crown Court.
