A woman has died after her car collided with a Mercedes which was fleeing from police in east London. A woman was killed and four people taken to hospital after a car collided with a Mercedes which was fleeing police in east London.
The police car switched on its lights to pursue the Mercedes at 0345 BST on Bethnal Green Road. An unmarked police car had tried to halt the black car on Bethnal Green Road, Shoreditch, by switching on its blue lights.
The Mercedes sped up and collided with a Vauxhall Corsa. A woman, aged in her 30s, died at the scene. The Mercedes then sped off, crashing with a Vauxhall Corsa, containing two adults and girl, and other vehicles.
Four people, including a child believed to be aged two, are in hospital. Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident. A woman in the Corsa died and a man and a girl from the car were injured.
The occupants of the black Mercedes left the scene of the crash, near the junction with Vallance Road. The two occupants of the Mercedes fled the scene.
