MH370: New debris probed off coast of Mozambique Search for MH370: 'High possibility' debris from Boeing 777
(35 minutes later)
Investigators searching for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 are examining images of an object found off the coast of Mozambique, reports say. Malaysia's transport minister has said there is a "high possibility" that debris found in Mozambique came from a Boeing 777, the same model as missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
The piece of debris, reportedly found on a sandbank off the coast of the southern African country, could be from a Boeing 777, according to NBC news. Liow Tiong Lai tweeted: "Based on early reports, high possibility debris found in Mozambique belongs to a B777".
MH370 disappeared in March 2014 while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. All 239 people on board remain missing. Mr Liow said Malaysian aviation teams were working with their Australian counterparts to retrieve the debris.
One confirmed piece of debris has been found before, on Reunion Island. MH370 disappeared in March 2014 while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
The aircraft and all 239 passengers remain missing.

Investigators in Malaysia, Australia and the US have seen photographs of the new object and say there is a good chance it came from a Boeing 777, according to NBC News. If confirmed, the object found in Mozambique will be the second piece of known debris from the aircraft. Last year authorities found a piece of the plane's wing on the shore of Reunion island in the Indian Ocean.
NBC said the debris was found by an American man who has been tracking the investigation into the missing flight.
