BERLIN — A cousin of German art collector Cornelius Gurlitt who is challenging his will is objecting to a court-ordered report that concluded he was competent to draw up the testament.

Gurlitt died in 2014, months after German authorities said they had seized more than 1,000 works at his apartment. He designated a Swiss museum as heir. A court rejected cousin Uta Werner’s challenge and she appealed.

Werner’s spokesman, Thomas Pfaff, said Wednesday his client has submitted a response to December’s report by an expert commissioned by the Munich court considering the appeal. He said it cites three psychiatric experts, two of whom concluded that Gurlitt wasn’t competent to draw up the will while the third found “methodical mistakes” in the previous report.

It isn’t clear when the court will rule.
