Normanby chest injuries death: Man 'had been assaulted' Eston death: Man arrested on suspicion of murder

The death of a man found with severe chest injuries in Middlesbrough is being treated as suspicious, police have said. A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 22-year-old man in Middlesbrough.
Paramedics and the air ambulance were called to the Flatts Lane area of Normanby on Tuesday. Lee Pettite was found with serious chest injuries in Oakley Walk in Eston at about 17:00 GMT on Tuesday.
They alerted police just after 17:00 GMT. Despite efforts to save the man he died, police said. Cleveland Police said they believe Mr Pettite received the injuries in Woodcock Close, where he lived, before staggering to where he was found.
Officers from the Cleveland force said they believed the man was a victim of an assault. A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned by detectives.
Mr Pettite was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he later died. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out later.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with private CCTV in the area.
