Police in Prince George’s County said they are investigating a shooting at a Lanham area bus stop that left one man critically wounded, and they looking for two suspects as two area schools were put on lockdown as a precaution. A 17-year-old was critically wounded in a shooting at a Lanham area bus stop Monday morning.

DuVal High and Goddard Montessori schools were put on lockdown as a precaution, officials said, and no activity occurred at the schools. Some area roadways were also closed as police and K9 units were on the scene. When officers arrived, they found a male teenager who had been shot and critically wounded. He was taken to an area hospital.

Kellie MacLaughlin was in the area for a morning appointment when she heard a gunshot. MacLaughlin, 29, said she ducked before she heard a second gunshot.
“I saw the boy slumped down,” MacLaughlin said. “The boy was laying in the street. This happened out of nowhere.”
