Detectives investigating the death of an imam in Rochdale have rearrested a man on suspicion of murder. | |
Jalal Uddin was found with a fatal head injury in a children’s play area after being attacked on the way home from a mosque on 18 February. The 64-year-old was taken to hospital but died a short time later. | |
A 21-year-old man and a boy, aged 17, were arrested on 22 February and later bailed until 20 April. | |
But Greater Manchester police said on Saturday that officers had since found new evidence and had rearrested the man on suspicion of murder. | |
DCI Terry Crompton said: “This investigation remains a high priority for us and, as such, significant work is being carried out to ensure we bring those responsible to justice. | |
