Henrico Co. officer indicted in shooting of unarmed passenger
Version 0 of 1. A grand jury in Henrico County indicted a police officer Friday in the shooting of an unarmed passenger during a December traffic stop. The officer, Joel D. Greenway, has been charged with malicious wounding and maliciously shooting into an occupied vehicle, according to a statement from Henrico Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon L. Taylor. The charges were filed in connection with a Dec. 15 incident. Taylor said the passenger was unarmed, but did not release further information. Greenway, who was served with the indictments Friday morning, was granted a $10,000 secured-bond, the statement said. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 28. |
