Pensioner dies after house fire

A man in his 70s has died in hospital four days after a fire at his home in Bangor, County Down.

The pensioner was admitted on Friday evening following the blaze at Rathgill Place.

His wife remains in hospital and is understood to have serious injuries related to smoke inhalation.

A police spokeswoman said enquiries into the incident were ongoing, however, there was nothing to suggest at present that it was suspicious.
