The husband of a make-up artist who was reported missing two months ago has been arrested and questioned for a second time about her disappearance.

Sussex Police launched a murder inquiry after 48-year-old Diane Chenery-Wickens from Duddleswell was reported missing by her husband David on 24 January.

Det Ch Insp Steve Johns said officers remained "determined".

He said the investigation team remained in contact with the family and would be meeting them on Monday afternoon.

"This remains very much a significant investigation and the mood of the team continues to be determined and positive," he said.

"As always anyone with information who may not have come forward is urged to contact the inquiry team now."

He said that officers re-arrested a man in connection with the disappearance on 19 March.

The 51-year-old man, also from Duddleswell, was questioned further by detectives and released again on bail until 30 April, he added.

Before the meeting on Monday, the missing woman's brother, Russell Wickens, said: "It's Easter, and it's a family time, and it's a time when Diane would have been here.

"What it does is bring up all the worries and concerns that we have for her. None of that diminishes and, missing her as we do, none of this gets any easier."

In a fresh plea for information, he said: "Diane was a very popular girl. She was loved by everyone who knew her or worked with her.

"I just want anyone who felt they knew anything of significance at all about where she might be, or any information at all that might lead to us finding her, to contact Sussex Police."
