Police investigate woman's death Family 'devastated' by Fife death
(about 7 hours later)
Detectives are investigating the death of a 21-year-old woman in Fife on Sunday. The family of a woman found dead in Fife on Easter Sunday have paid tribute to her saying the 21-year-old would be "very much missed".
Officers from Fife Constabulary are looking into the circumstances of the death of Sonya Todd, who lived at Stewart Court, Methil. Sonya Todd's body was found in her flat at Stewart Court, Methil, at about 2100 GMT, following an alleged assault.
A police spokesman said a 24-year-old man was due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday. A family statement read: "We are devastated at Sonya's loss and she will be very much missed by all of us."
The spokesman added that a report had been sent to the procurator fiscal's office. A 24-year-old man appeared in private at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday charged with murder.
Det Insp Andy Girdwood, of Fife Constabulary, said: "The last confirmed sighting of Sonya was Saturday afternoon on Wellesley Road, Methil.
"We believe Sonya may also have gone out in Methil or Leven on Saturday evening and are very keen to hear from anyone who knows her and saw her on that day. Any piece of information could be important."
