At Leeds-Bradford airport no aircraft have landed there since last night and flights have been delayed indefinitely.

The A66 is closed to all vehicles and the police are urging motorists to take extra care on minor roads.

And the North West Ambulance Service has appealed to members of the public to only call 999 as a last resort.
At one point, a vehicle from Sedbergh in Cumbria became trapped in heavy snow and needed the help of a mountain rescue team to get free.
Sudden squalls
North Yorkshire Police described the conditions as "horrendous".
A spokesman said: "There is plenty of snow and the major problem is with the roads. It is horrendous.
"The snow came down suddenly. Our advice is only drive if you really must. I drove six miles to work this morning and it was the worst I can remember for a long time.
"It is very icy and very cold. We have had no major incidents, just minor bumps, but it is not very nice out there."
