Two men, one aged 20 and another in his 30s, have died after a collision between two lorries on the A5 between Omagh and Newtownstewart.
The crash happened close to the Mellon Country Inn shortly before 1530 GMT.
The 20-year-old was the driver of one of the lorries, while the other man was a passenger in the second. The other driver has been taken to hospital.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. A PSNI spokeswoman said the road had been closed.
Bert Wilson, chairman of Omagh Council, said there have been a number of road deaths in the area recently.
"At my last two council meetings, my first job when I was opening the meeting was to extend or sympathy to people killed on the Ballygawley side of Omagh," he said. |
