The man, believed to be a German national, was found at Cefn Croes wind farm at Ponterwyd, Ceredigion.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said he was found four miles off the main A44 road on the top of a mountain on Wednesday night.

Police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are investigating.

Dyfed-Powys Police said it was investigating along with the HSE.

A police spokeswoman said: "He was found dead at a house in the Cefn Croes area last night at around 10pm. Next-of-kin have been informed."

The HSE said an inspector has visited the scene and was working with the police.

When it opened in June 2005, Cefn Croes was the UK's most powerful onshore wind farm.

Built on a mountain plateau at a cost of £50m, it is home to 39 turbines, up to 328ft (100m) high.
