The funeral of former ITV newsreader Carol Barnes will take place today, her agent has said. TV news presenters Alastair Stewart, Dermot Murnaghan and Nicholas Owen have attended the funeral of former ITV newsreader Carol Barnes in Brighton.
Only relatives and close friends will attend the private ceremony in Sussex at the family's request. Her former partner Denis MacShane paid tribute to the former News At Ten presenter saying she was a "wonderful journalist and a wonderful mother".
