Despite little sign of snowfall in the local area, polar bears were treated to 26 tons of it as a Christmas present in San Diego Zoo, California this year.

The zoo filled their Polar Bear exhibit with snow for residents Kalluk, Tatqiq and Chinook, with unsurprisingly adorable results.

The bears can be seen rolling around in the white powder, playing with each other and hunting for carrots, melons and beef femurs hidden within the snow by zookeepers.

The zoo was able to provide such a large amount through public donations on its animal care wish list.

As the San Diego Zoo website states, "Enrichment is very important for the bears, as it stimulates them, keeps them active and promotes natural behaviours."

Such natural behaviours were self-taught, as all three bears were rescued from a young age after being orphaned.
