Version 0 of 1.

A second person has been charged in the killing of the 18-year-old Adelphi, Md. man who was found in the Silver Spring area Dec. 22 in near the Northwest Branch Trail, Montgomery County police said. In court filings, authorities have described the death of the man, Denis Vitalino Montufar-Bautista, as gang-related.

The police said in a news release Monday that they charged Noe Antonio Coreas-Mejia, 19, of Hyattsville, on Dec. 23, “for the murder” of Montufar-Bautista. No formal charge was specified and one could not be found in online court records.

Previously they said Julio Rivas-Rosales, 15, of Adelphi was charged as an adult with murder in the death.

The police have linked two other recent killings in Montgomery to gang activity, specifically a resurgence of the MS-13 gang.

Police said Coreas-Mejia is currently being held in Prince George’s County on Prince George’s charges.
