He had allegedly carried out attack on the 23-year-old who he picked up outside a bus station late at night in Wakefield. The 23-year-old woman claimed she was abducted and assaulted by Revenikiotis after she accepted his offer of a lift from outside Wakefield bus station, believing he was a taxi driver.
The court was told he drove her to a slip road on the M62 and indecently assaulted her.
When police arrived at the scene, Mr Revenikiotis claimed he thought the woman was a prostitute.
Traced in Greece
She never made a formal complaint and the matter was not taken any further until the death of Miss Hammill was reported.
The jury was told Mr Revenikiotis fled the country following Miss Hammill's death, but was eventually traced in Greece along with the Mercedes car.
They were told he had no reason to leave the country in a hurry, having bought a house in Dewsbury.
When police searched his home in School Crescent, they discovered personal items and fresh milk in the fridge.
