Up to 700 passengers have been evacuated from London's Marylebone station after a fire started on a train.

London Fire Brigade say between 400 and 700 people had been evacuated and it sent four fire engines and a rescue unit to the scene.

A message on the National Rail website said: "A fire on a train at London Marylebone is causing delays of up to 30 minutes to all services to and from the station."

Trains are currently only running between London Marylebone and Banbury, Aylesbury and High Wycombe. They may be delayed by up to 60 minutes.

The Underground station at Marylebone remains closed.

A spokesman for Transport for London said: "We are having some trouble resetting our fire alert panels."

He did not say when the Underground station was expected to reopen.
