Circumcision ambulance stolen in violent attack found in east London

Version 0 of 1. A £40,000 Audi TT being used as a private ambulance that was stolen from a doctor in a violent robbery has been found in east London. The circumcision ambulance, owned by a man in his 40s, was stolen on Wednesday after assailants "pounced" on him as he left a patient's house. A friend told the Evening Standard: "He believes they were waiting for him. They pounced on him, they ripped off his keys off his belt, and also stole his watch, before driving off with his car." The attack by three men caused the victim to fall to the ground and lose consciousness, according to Barking and Dagenham Metropolitan Police Service. When he regained consciousness, he saw his car being driven off by the suspects. His bag and watch were also stolen during the attack. Now the Audi TT, estimated to be worth nearly £40,000 and marked up as a private ambulance, has been located in a car park in the Newham area of London a day after the attack. The vehicle, which is used by a home circumcision service, was spotted by a member of the public at 9.30am on Thursday, a few miles from the original incident on Alderman Avenue in Barking. The discovery came after a Twitter post by neighbourhood watch group Shomrim NE London of the missing car was re-tweeted hundreds of times. No arrests have been made. |
