Murder charge over fatal stabbing

A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of an Iraqi man in Hull.

Goran Ali Hahmed is due to appear before Hull Magistrates' Court later over the death of Kawan Ashraf Sharif.

Humberside Police said the 24-year-old died of a stab wound to the neck after an incident in Bathurst Street late on Friday night.

Mr Sharif, who lived in Sandhurst Grove, Leeds, moved from Iraq to England six years ago, police said.
