Police are trying to trace a registered sex offender who went missing from his home more than two years ago.

Former police officer Martin Cusick, 52, who abused three girls, has been missing from his home in Clarkston since October 2005.

He was legally required to tell police of a change of address.

A police spokeswoman said Cusick, who has an estranged twin brother living in Glasgow, was not considered an "immediate risk".

The public were warned not to approach Cusick and to report any sightings.

Det Insp Sam Carson said: "The investigation to trace him has included liaison with numerous agencies and enquiries throughout the length and breadth of the country.

"We have recently received permission to publish his details in the hope that someone has either seen him or knows of his current whereabouts."

Cusick was jailed for five years in 1996 for lewd and libidinous behaviour against three children aged between six and 12.
