It is understood a floor gave way at a construction site in Victoria Street on Monday at 1040 GMT. Eyewitnesses said a floor gave way as concrete was being poured onto the top of a six-storey office block under construction in Victoria Street.
The ambulance service said there were five casualties, and the Royal Victoria Hospital have said their conditions are not yet known. They said some workers fell about 30ft to the ground and were trapped under the debris when the accident happened on Monday at 1040 GMT.
The injured people were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital.
