Police in Prince William County said they have arrested a 30-year-old Woodbridge man who they say was involved in a homicide earlier this month.

Byron Alan King of the 2700 block of Beechtree Lane turned himself in to police at a local station. He was the remaining suspect police wanted in connection with the Nov. 1 murder of Gilbert Kinard, 48, of no fixed address. King was charged with murder.

Another man — Lamar Lewis, also of Woodbridge, was arrested last week in Georgia by members of a federal marshals task force in connection with Kinard’s death. He was also charged with murder.

Police said Lewis and King got into a fight with Kinard around 2 a.m. and at least one of the men stabbed Kinard. He ran away but died of his injury on the steps of a townhouse on Brazil Circle. A person walking his dog found Kinard’s body almost six hours later.

According to statistics of homicides in the area that The Washington Post has tracked, there have been more than 250 in the region this year. Of those, seven have been in Prince William County.
