The Rev David Francis, vicar of St Edward's Church in Stow on the Wold, said at the weekend the thoughts of his congregation were with the victims and their families. A collection for the family, started by local newsagent Dave Haytree, has already raised more than £100.
"They [were] remembered in our Sunday services," he said. "People here are very shocked." "It's like, what can we do to help the family," he said.
"Everyone in Stow's been putting money into it. It's just showing the depth of how people feel."
The Rev David Francis, vicar of St Edward's Church in Stow-on-the-Wold, said: "Obviously at the moment, a lot of thought and prayer is focussing on the two children in hospital and on their parents.
"And thinking of needing to support those who are more closely involved, relatives, friends, neighbours and so on.
"In a community like that, a very significant proportion of the community will know at least some of the people involved or of them."
