Man held in armed police incident

A man is in custody after armed police were called to a house in the Cornton area of Stirling on Saturday.

Police blocked off streets in front of and behind the two-storey building in Adamson Place for about an hour.

It is understood that a second house was searched as part of the police operation.

A spokesman for Central Scotland Police said that a 23-year-old man was later arrested. The man is due appear in court on Monday.
