A lorry has overturned following a collision with a double-decker bus under a railway bridge in south London. A tow-truck has overturned following an accident with a double-decker bus under a railway bridge in south London.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Battersea Park Road just after 1015 GMT on Saturday. The accident in Battersea Park Road, Kennington, happened as the truck tried to go under the bridge with its extended towing arm at about 1010 GMT.
The bus, number 345, was left leaning over due to the impact. London Ambulance Service said two people have been treated at the scene for injuries. The arm caught the bottom of the bridge resulting in it tilting on to the oncoming number 345 bus, police said.
Battersea Park Road is closed both ways between Latchmere Road and Falcon Road leading to long queues in the area. The bus, which was left leaning over, had 30 passengers onboard at the time. None of the passengers were hurt.
Three ambulances and three rapid action vehicles are at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
London Fire Brigade said a railway engineer is also at the scene to assess if there has been any structural damage to the bridge which is used by Southern services and London Overground. Railway engineer
