People across Europe have observed a minute's silence in honour of those who died in the Paris terror attacks.

The continent's great cities fell silent at 11am British time on Monday - led by Paris, where 129 people lost their lives in a series of gun and bomb attacks on Friday.

Crowds paid silent tribute to the dead at France's most famous venues, including Notre Dame Cathedral and Place de la Republique in Paris.

The silence was observed in London, Berlin and other European capitals, as well as by world leaders at the G20 summit in Antalya, Turkey.
