Version 0 of 1.

Tensions remain high despite Parisian defiance over the weekend - best exemplified by this interview with a group of young Parisians.

Filming in a café close to Place de la Republique, ITV’s Tom Bradby asks “is the reality you will think twice when you go out on a Friday or Saturday night?”

Celia Caracena replies “I don’t think so, honestly, how can you tell this is going to happen this day or tomorrow? You cannot know so it’s better not to think about it because you cannot do anything about it.”

The interview is then interrupted by a mass of people sprinting and screaming outside, in scenes similar to Friday’s terrorist attack. Inside the café, mayhem ensues as customers attempt to flee or duck for cover, fearing the worst.

The video shows a 90-year-old woman struggling to leave while a young man jumps over tables desperate to escape the café.

A loud bang sparked frenzy in crowds gathered in the Place de la Republique and the fear spread like wildfire. The video below shows a group of Parisians hiding in a kitchen store room.

It later emerged the bangs had been a false alarm and were caused by firecrackers.
