The killing of the man found Nov. 2 in the Montgomery Village area was believed to be gang related and three suspects have been arrested, the county police said.

Police said the arrests were made in the death of Roberto Gutierrez Cruz,22, of Montgomery Village

The suspects were named by police as Luis F. Avelar Morales, 17, of Girard Street in Gaithersburg, Daniel Adonai Ramos, 19, of Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village, and Juan Espinal Rapalo, 18, of Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg.

They have been charged with murder, police said. They said the 17-year-old was charged as an adult.

Police said they are still investigating what led to the shooting.

However, they said in a statement that investigators “believe that this homicide is gang related and that the suspects are associated with the MS-13 gang.”
