Version 0 of 1.

Two men were killed Tuesday night after the stolen car they were in left the road, struck a fence and smashed into a house in Fairfax County, police said.

The incident occurred about 8 p.m. in the Beacon Hill section of the county, which is near the Route 1 corridor, south of Alexandria.

Police identified the driver as Antonio A. Badie, 28, of Alexandria. The passenger’s name was not released, pending notification of his relatives.

The passenger, who was 27, died at the scene. Badie died after being taken to an area hospital.

The cause of the crash was not known immediately, and it is still under investigation.

Police in Fairfax County said their initial investigation shows that the driver was headed eastbound in the westbound lane of Beacon Hill Road in a 2008 Honda at a “high rate of speed.”

He reportedly veered from oncoming traffic, lost control of the car and hit a curb, according to police. The car then went over the curb, into a lawn and hit trees, a metal fence, and a home. It landed in the dining room of the home in the 6800 block of Smithway Drive. No one was inside the home at the time of the crash.

Police said they believe the car the men were in had been reported as stolen from the Falls Church area. on Oct. 18. Detectives found a gun and marijuana inside the stolen car, according to a department news release.

Investigators said they are looking into whether speed, drugs and alcohol were factors. An autopsy and toxicology test will determine whether or not Badie was impaired at the time of the crash, the release said.
