Two injured in Swansea explosion

Fire crews were called to the Hastie Group buildings on Morfa Road at about 1320 GMT. Firefighters said the explosion was in a de-gassifying process building which contained a large number of propane gas cylinders. One of those taken to the city's Morriston Hospital was said to be in a critical but stable condition. Craig Thomas, of the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, said the buildings were evacuated. He said the two males who were injured had burns and inhalation injuries. Fire service investigators, police and the Health and Safety Executive were at the scene and will jointly investigate the cause. |
