Four quizzed over assault on boys

Four people have been arrested in a fracas during which two youths and two policemen were injured.

Essex police were called to Chalkwell railway station, near Southend, at 1600 GMT on Saturday to an alleged assault.

One officer was injured while trying to make an arrest and called for back-up. Another officer was also hurt. The injured teenagers suffered bruising.

The four, two men, a woman and a boy, were arrested on suspicion of affray and causing actual bodily harm.
