Man is shot in 'targeted' attack

A 23-year-old man has been shot in what has been described as a targeted attack in Liverpool.

Police were called to Chiselhurst Avenue in Gateacre at about 2130 GMT on Saturday where they found the victim.

His injuries have been described as serious. House-to-house inquiries are taking place in the area and police patrols have been stepped up.

Detectives say they believe it was a targeted shooting and are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
