After declining fundraising efforts from Super PAC’s, Bernie Sander’s presidential campaign has raised $26 million from 650,000 donors.

While Hillary Clinton beat Mr Sanders by $2 million in the third quarter, she held 58 fundraisers to Mr Sanders’ seven.

“We are sending a message to the billionaire class: your greed is going to end and we're going to end it for you,” the campaign wrote on Twitter.

Sanders’ campaign manager Robby Mook also issued a statement when revealing the news.

"We are thrilled and grateful for the support of hundreds of thousands of donors across the country, helping us raise a record $75 million in the first two quarters. Thanks to our supporters, we are able to meet our goals and build an organization that can mobilize millions of voters to ensure Hillary Clinton is their fighter in the White House.”

The campaign has even broke President Barack Obama’s previous record, as he’s the fastest candidate to reach one million online donations.

The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza believes this is a huge problem for Ms Clinton, as Mr Sanders possess everything she wants and needs at this point in the campaign — energy.

“There are practical realities of Sanders's fundraising, too. Having $25 million in the bank, and having raised $40 million, Sanders will now be able to get his message out — largely via TV ads — in at least Iowa and New Hampshire. Clinton and her aligned super PAC will still outspend Sanders on TV, but it won't be totally lopsided or at least as lopsided as everyone, including Sanders and his team, expected.”
