The former bouncer is also suspected of carrying out 20 other attacks on women including six attempted date rapes involving drugs. Both Miss Delagrange and Miss McDonnell were hit over the head with a blunt instrument but no weapon has ever been found.
The prosecution said the attacks were so similar that they must have been the work of one man. The jury of seven women and five men was unable to reach verdicts on two other assault charges.
Kate Sheedy and the family of Marsha McDonnell have been in court during the trial which lasted about three-and-a-half months. These were the kidnap and false imprisonment of Anna-Maria Rennie, 17, and the attempted murder of hairdresser Irma Dragoshi, 33.
